What does an employer have to pay me (cents per mile) for using my own car for work? I'm in PA and I am being paid .36 per mile for rembursement but I understand it's higher. Does anyone know what the IRS allows?

The IRS regulations do not require an employer to pay you that exact amount-- check the department of labor in your state for guidelines but in many states, the employer can pay you whatever they want as long as they post this info somewhere once a year. My employer (who is very generous with everything else) pays $.044/mile which is also less than the IRS says but still legal.

It's not a "percentage", it's a per mile charge ... currently .48 (48 cents a mile).
