I am sick of it. I am just as American as anyone. From the conservative stance on a lot of issues, I would guess I'm a lot more patriotic than the people calling me UnAmerican. I believe in the ideas this country was founded on: free speech, seperation of church and state, etc. I believe in our Constitution and I sure think it's more than a damn piece of paper. It is the NeoCons that seem to want to change what America stands for. Are you all parrots who just repeat what your told and believe what you're told to believe? Don't you have a brain? I love America. I support the troops. I don't support the war because it is WRONG. Disagree? Well, that's your right. It's America after all.

Pobept, any "negative attitude" I have displayed has not been directed at America, but rather at the corrupt administration of George W. Bush. Newsflash for you and all the Neocons: George Bush is not America. The Iraq War is not America. Idiot.

anonymosity, thank you for proving my point. How EXACTLY is questioning the decisions of a corrupt administration "aiding and abetting our enemies"? As an American, I have the RIGHT to voice my opinion on all subjects, including our President and his immoral war.

has anyone called you an American in this question yet. cause if not let me call you it. of course you would be sick of the conservative stance on any issues that don't suit your own way of thinking. you open your mouth and say something. and everyone should listen and believe as you do. You can say whatever you want. but when you ask for answers. don't get on your High horse and rant. because some people DONT agree with every thing you say. Now who is sounding and behaving like a parrot. you have just called everyone who is not in agreement with you Brainless. who is to say you are right and they are wrong YOU. Would you ever pick an answer as best. if it was not
the answer you wanted to read or hear. I don't think so. You are just another PARROT following something someone else has said already. join the club POLLY.

Because UnAmerican is the biggest word "Dubya" has ever pronounced so they vow to use it as often as humanly possible. I mean really. These are the same people that are telling us that the "real Americans" are people like Bush, Cheney, Gingrich, and Coulter. I don't think I want to be lumped into that category thank you very much. I love the spirited debate that takes place on this sight but like you I have found some to be more hostile than others, but it's still fun and a great way to blow off steam at the end of the day. Enjoy it, the good and the bad because your opinion is one thing Bush can't yet outlaw.

We all get that whichever side of the "boat" we are on. Liberals get called unamerican, and conservatives get called warmongers or similar(some worse)names. Maybe if you word your questions in a way to promote debate in a civil manner, then you won't elicit a response that is so venomous. This forum is a place for peaceful protest and as such, it's easy to get pulled down by one person sticking a snide remark in there. Just blow over those comments and really take a look at those people who offer an opposing opinion that just might make sense. If each side is doing that, then we would all be opened to learn from each other.
I would rather read a well written opposing argument than read rhetoric from someone supporting my own views.

If you are against Bush, you simply are not only Un-American, but in fact you hate the Americans! So stated on Fox-News many times! Even worse, if a true foreigner does not agree with Bush, he is declared an enemy of the Americans, as happened to the previous chancelor of Germany, Gerhard Schroeder!
Bush himself said: "If vou are not for me, you are against America!" In other words, he is America, not you!!!

It's all part of the politics of hate and fear perpetuated by all political partys but particularly the Neo-con Goons. You are either with them or against them and if your the latter, you better get out of their way or you will be deemed Un-American or subversive, or if they have low intelligence like MenefeeDave, you will be attacked personally and insulted. Most of us here on Y-answers know better. Our founding Fathers would be disgusted with the criminal Bush administration and thier own interpretation of our beloved constitution.

Because people would rather label you than debate you with facts. Those who resort to insults and degradation only do so because they have no facts to back up their views. If they did, they'd use them.
I get that a lot, too. Of course, your not helping your argument with your choice of names and some of the questions you ask.
"You can support the troops and not the President." - Tom Delay (that sure came back to bite him in the a$$, didn't it?)

You have to understand the source, they are repuglican, it is not ok to disagree with them because they think that they are always right and it is their way or the highway. Thing to do is keep hammering away because if they think they are getting to you then they will step up the pace, I get hate mail all the time from some people that have no argument but like to call names. I send them nothing but love. Like "hey fcuk you" if you know what I mean.

It's a simple word that can used in this scenario(s). When somebody doesn't like your opinion, you're UnAmerican. Or if you don't support the war in Iraq, the president, or whatever else they have there, you are UnAmerican.

Better to be called names than be hung as you would have been during our revolution and other wars early in our country's history... keep aiding and abetting our enemies. Your tantrums may make you feel better, but you certainly won't win at the ballot box.
