That depends. If no harm or injury was caused, nothing other than inform him/her of the error . If the medication error resulted in an injury, then contact the state medical board and lawyer if needed.

Make sure that your daughter is okay, quit the meds. Have her drink lots of clear fluids to flush out her system. Go to a different doctor and have her evaluated to make sure the medicine didn't do any damage.
Save the bottle with the prescription!!!!
In hindsight, photocopy the script before you turn it in to the pharmacy....

Check with a malpractice attorney.

Make sure that the pharmacy didn't make an error in reading the script. This happens often. Don't blame the doctor till you see acopy of the original script that is suppose to be kept on file at the pharmacy

Prednisone is a corticosteroid and cannot be stopped abruptly! Pay no attention to anyone who advises you to stop this med. It must be tapered off gradually. I've posted an answer for you in the Health section. Find it. If you don't see this, please e-mail me at nurselmh@sbcglobal.net. I'd like to know what the acutal dosage was and to advise you as to what to do.

1st how was she hurt. To sue you must be hurt in some way other than just to much meds they would need to have harmed her in some way.

Malpractice.

Is she permanently damaged because of the dosage.

You can and should report him to the state. It will go on his record.
