Assuming he comes back even 80-85% as he was before?
How many games would the Suns win if they added him to this current group? 60? 65? 70, even?

Remember that the 2004-05 team that won 62 games (with Amare Stoudemire) defeated Dallas 4 games to 2 in the Semi-Finals.
Add improved depth and the emergence of Boris Diaw, Raja Bell and Leandro Barbosa, and the Suns are a very, very talented squad. '86 Celtics good.

Remember, Amare Stoudemire is only 23 and Tim Duncan is already 30. So the Suns will be better longer than the Spurs, and probably win a Championship as the Spurs soon fade into oblivion.

If he comes back at 100% yeah he was an awesome talent...but even at 100% he would have to overcome two great teams in the Western Conference...I can see the Suns reaching 60 but that doesn't get he the Western Conference Championship..between teams of the upper echelon in the West I don't think home court advantage is going to mean that much San Antonio had it this year..so number of wins isn't a guarantee of a championship...without changes I still think it will be competitive between the top three in the west Dallas Phoenix and San Antonio but i still see it in this order Dallas and San Antonio and then closely followed by Phoenix.....and the Eastern Conference is becoming a non issue the best teams seem to be headed downhill. Thats how I would sum it up with a complete recovery of Stoudemire which I dont think is very likely.

Amare Stoudamire will come back and he will be a force of nature. That said, he's young and his knees will heal up and if he doesn't over do it, he can return to his explosive self, BUT he won't be as explosive as he used to be. It will take a while to fit Stoudamire back into the chemistry, but once done it will do many things. 3 point shots will be easier to come, Boris Diaw will not be the main guy to guard so he will get easier shot selections..the Canadian..old yes, but will be more effective with a monster center. Boris Diaw can also pass might I add. Stoudamire can run with the smaller players like Barbosa. I'm sure Phoenix will get a good backup PG for Nash to limit minutes. Shawn Marion will be doing his normal open 3's and layups and dunks. That said, I see them as a top 3 contender and winning possibly 61 games.

i dont think so. i think he will be a problem for steve nash; 1. with him in the lineup, he will ask for the ball. that means nash wont be playing around with the ball anymore and will end up watching amare do his thing 2. he doesnt shoot the 3 ball and that means the paint will be more crowded and the layup line wont be as much as this past season 3. he was out for almost a year and it also takes time (maybe a year) to regroup and learn how to play with one another

ABSOLUTLEY NOT!!! Amare will offer little to no extra help in the next season because of the surgeries. You just don't overcome two surgeries in an NBA career. Although he will make a presence from the BENCH, but starting him would be a huge mistake.

Not exactly. Amare Stoudamire wtih a healthy Kurt Thomas can. They also need to bring back Tim Thomas. Whatever they do, they do not need to break up the team.

thats a big if,with the kind of injury he sustained,he won't be as quick or look like he's on a pogo stick anymore.he's going to have to learn to modify his game.rumor has it lakers are getting kevin garnet, san antonio is getting older[bad]the mavericks are getting older[good]phoenix needs more than amare the mavs are showing what it takes, chemistry[which phoenix has]and depth[which phoenix needs]

They'll be better, probably 61 wins, but they won't be better than Dallas if the Mavs re-sign J. Terry.
