Yes, people with genital herpes could have kids Be sure to let your caregiver know at your first prenatal visit if you think you or your partner has ever had a herpes outbreak. The biggest concern with genital herpes during pregnancy is that you might transmit it to your baby during labor and birth. Though newborn herpes is relatively rare (about 1,500 newborns are affected each year), the disease can be devastating to your baby, so it's important to learn how you can reduce his risk of catching it.
In rare cases, a mom-to-be will transfer the infection through the placenta to her baby if she gets genital herpes for the first time during pregnancy and has never had oral or genital herpes before (this is called a primary infection). If this happens, it can cause serious birth defects. A few studies have found that a primary infection during the first trimester can increase the risk of miscarriage, but other studies found no connection. If you have a primary infection during your second or third trimester you may be at increased risk for preterm delivery.

There are two types of herpes simplex virus: HSV-1 and HSV-2. Both virus types can cause sores around the mouth (herpes labialis) and on the genitals (genital herpes). Cold sores are caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV).
Cold sores sometimes called fever blisters, are groups of small blisters on the lip and around the mouth. The skin around the blisters is often red, swollen, and sore. The blisters may break open, leak a clear fluid, and then scab over after a few days. They usually heal in several days to 2 weeks.
The herpes simplex virus usually enters the body through a break in the skin around or inside the mouth. It is usually spread when a person touches a cold sore or touches infected fluid—such as from sharing eating utensils or razors, kissing an infected person, or touching that person's saliva. A parent who has a cold sore often spreads the infection to his or her child in this way. Cold sores can also be spread to other areas of the body.

Yes, when you are sure you are pregnant go to you OB/GYN and they will watch very closely. Even put you on Valtrex toward the end of the pregnancy. You CAN have children and even deliver vaginally. My sister did it!! My 5 year old niece is beautiful and healthy.

Yes, and as most everyone has said you should not deliver vaginaly, I have a friend who did and her son had problems at birth and later found out later ( about 3 months) he is blind. From the disease unfortunately. Good luck.

You can have children, but a vaginal delivery would not be recommended.
