Think... what kind of women you want to interpret. Do you want to interpret a women in our modern world where women have more independence and power? Or do you want to interpret a women in the 17th century where women didn't. Think of colours that represent a women. Is this women strong? Maybe use strong colours. Is this women elegant? Use pale colours. Picture in your mind what kind of women you want to see and the things that might represent in their life. For example if you see a women with a laptop or in a business suit you might think of a buisness women. If you see a women with a broom you think more of a house wife with a husband and children.

does it have to be abstract, then? you can't just draw your mom or something?
picasso drew faces in profile and with two eyes at the same time. think of an odd way to draw what in front of you, and then call it abstract art!
or, what I would do, I would get out a bunch of colours that represent how I feel, and make a finger painting. Then call it impressionism if anyone asks.
all those art school people are so snobby about it, but the ideas are really simple.

How can anyone help you find your interpretation of a woman? By definition you need to find your own inspiration.

A self portrait would be appropriate...it needn't be an exact likeness, just something that offers up who you think you are, the feeling of you. I can't remember where I read it, but some famous artist once said that all artists should do a self portrait once a year. Make this project your first. Good luck with it.

Draw her lying on the floor with her hair draped around her. In the hair draw a image of her childhood. Starting with her birth up to her present age. When a person views your drawing it will tell a unique story of this ladys life.

I would draw a tree - strong, fertile, growing, in touch with the seasons and cycles of nature, wise.

Think of someone you love.... mother, sister, friend, etc... think of what makes them unique in your eyes as women. what are their strengths, weaknesses, passions and aggrivations. how would you describe them verbally. then, illustrate those words in your mind, sketch it out on paper several different times... pick the best three ideas that remind you of the women in your life and do your final composition!
best of luck to you!
