answers team's doing a bang up job..but there are more mounting glitches then they can handle..whats to become of answers later down the road?

look atthe forum..mostly chaotic and disorganized..good users leaving because they cant handle it all..running away wont solve the problems..i almost ranaway..but held my ground..

I find it fun to do - not nearly as much as I used to. I do come here each day to see what's up... but mostly I hang out in the yahoo group or at the blogs.

I would NEVER - I repeat NEVER - come here looking for real answers. I don't trust it. It's a great place to get opinions -but I wouldn't trust anything here as far as I could through my house... which isn't very far, i might add. I may see what other have to say - but I would still do a ton of research on the web by myself to see if what they say can be backed up.

So it will never be a great basin of Knowlege in my oppinion... it will continue to be a fun entertainment site. I'm okay with that I guess... I have kinda given up on it being anything more than that. :/

Heading downhill in a hurry. Although I am thankful for the friends and knowledge I have gained from answers, I am more disturbed every day by the filth and garbage I see.

Respect and common courtesy have almost disappeared from the site. I don't know what YAT can do about that. They are qualities you have or don't and you have to choose to use them.

I wonder if it is an age thing with the horrible answers and questions. It does get attention and so many younger people are starved for attention. They also have a need to feel important. It almost makes you want to ask the YAT to do a wholesale suspension of the all of them. It just might work.

i haven't answered a question in three or four days...the site's just lost "it" (if it was ever here)...i'm tired of the stupidity, there are some truly good questions out there, and they get lost so quickly in the flood of all the other garbage
i suppose that was to be expected as the site grew, but it seems that Answers puts quantity above quality way too often...if it continues like it is, i suppose it'll probably end, or become some useless chat room
i loved the site (and i still do), i used to stay up late just to answer, but now i don't, like i said, i'm tired of all the crap, and it seems like a lot of others are, too...which just makes it worse
even the categories that used to be fairly clean, interesting, fun, and helpful have become almost useless

as for the forum...well...not much i can say there, but it's pretty messed up, too...glad you didn't run away, though..."when the going gets tough, the tough get going" doesn't mean running away...hopefully, yahoo won't run away from this, and will allow it to fulfill it's great potential

Well, to be honest, I think it's gone downhill. When I first started, I had so much fun. There wasn't a bunch of crap, lots good thought out questions. I couldn't wait to log in and get down to answering the questions, and asking a few of my own. Maybe I would still feel that way if I'd stayed out of the forum, because the forum has just put a damper on whatever I felt for this site, and now I'm frusterated, with all of it. If it continues down this path, it won't last for long.

Well I don't think this is that serious an issue. The answers system had a boom for about 3 or 4 months and then declined because people became bored with it. Also, I personally think that the questions asked on here are getting more and more profane, and are questions I refuse to answer. So that coupled with the end of the "answer boom" has made it a -not-so-exciting-thing-to-do.

There has been a decline over the last 3 weeks in participation. I don't know if it is so much that it is problems with Y!A's as it is that it is closer to summer in the North East America. More people going out and being out then sitting in front of the computer. :)

I must say I love answers but do get so fed up of people posting the same questions, when you are going to post a question it tells you if there are any questions similar, but they keep on posting them! I am bored of the ones asking "how can I tell him I love him" and "when will I get married?" stupid things like that really annoy me! It's good that there is now a decline in Davinci Code related questions! It passes the time of day though

A great deal of really fun and intelligent people have left because of the over-censorship in some areas and the lack of it in others. It's too bad that can't be remedied.
I don't think I would come here for a serious question to be answered. I find it rather addictive for entertainment value.

It is sinking fast. Yahoo had a good idea here until they started suspending people for stupid things. The definition of "chatting/corresponding" alone is too broad. The Yahoo answers team alienated too many people and now they are too scared to ask many questions.

I like YA, it's nice to be able to bring a bit of sunshine into a dull world! I like to ask daft questions so I can get daft answers and so it doesn't take much to earn the 2 points. I just don't like the fact that YAT don't remove questions which should be removed, but remove decent questions.
