I had my first dr. appt today. I will have the blood test results tommorow. The doctor did a pap smear, and also did a pelvic and uterus exam. He said the uterus was the right size, and gave me a good report on that exam. However, because of the spotting I have been doing the past 3 days, he did a transvaginal ultrasound and I was able to see the sack and all that. I was told that everything was in its correct place, and that it looked great! It was too early to see the baby yet though. The ultrasound showed I am 4 weeks 3 days along, and my EDD is February 15, 2007. She also said that she saw the fluid which was the blood, and she said there wasn't much at all, and it was not anywhere near the sac / baby. She also said she thought the bleeding might be unrelated but not 100% sure. However, she said she said everything looked great with the sack etc, and that she and the doctor thought the bleeding would resolve itself. Please read the added information before answering! Thanks.

Before dismissing me, my doctor prescribed me progesterone pills, and wanted me to start on those tonight. He said he would have the blood results tommorow and if the levels looked good, he would have me stop taking the progesterone, but wanted me to take it for now to be on the safe side. He also told me to take it easy and get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids. I have been a little more crampy since I have gotten home (this started after he pushed on my abdomen, stomach area when doing the uterus and pelvic exam. I have also been passing a little more blood, but its still not very much.

What do you all think??? Should I be more relieved or still worried with the bleeding?? Was anybody else more crampy after having the pelvic and uterus exam??? Any advice or opinions would be welcome!
Thanks so much for all the support!!!

Well first off congratulations! Now as for your question it is very common to be crampy after your papsmear as is and ten to *** in a intravaginal ultrasound you are garunteed to be crampy. Many women experiance spotting in thier first trimester. That sounds like all it is, nothing to worry about. The cramping is probably just from the ultrasound and after a papsmear and an ultrasound you can expect some bleeding which the doc should have told you. It doesn't sound like there is anything to worry about. Looks like your off to a great start! Good luck!

Cramping in early pregnancy is a quite common occurance:

"Mild cramps, achiness or a pulling sensation on one of both sides of the abdomen is usually nothing to worry about. This is probably caused by the stretching of ligaments that support the uterus. Unless cramping is severe, constant or accompanied by bleeding, there's no need to worry"

If your doctor has given you the OK on everything, my advice to you is to just put your feet up and relax for a while. Once you get your blood test results back, you should have a little more assurance because an unhealthy pregnancy would be indicated if there is only a small amount of the pregnancy hormone hCG in your blood.

The only I can comment on from experience is the additional info. For the first part, I'd suggest waiting for the results and if every thing's okay, a second would be good. If it shows something to be concerned about, there's your culprit!
After exams (when they want to push on my ovaries and my uterus and all that jazz) I do have more cramps and I have slight bleeding, so if yours is a little heavier, I would say it was from the exam. Try to relax and have faith that it will all be okay. Good luck and God bless!

I'd let you know to calm down however I have a sister-in-legislation who went via the targeted equal factor. It's now not your the town, simply commonplace health care provider method. She used to be a consistently a worried destroy for the duration of the weeks earlier than that first appontment. There's well information and dangerous information. In her second being pregnant, she did have yet another miscarriage and learned this at her first health care provider's appointment. The well information is that her third being pregnant went simply great and the little one is now six months historic. She hated having to attend goodbye earlier than she would understand whether or not she miscarried or now not. She used to be regularly concerned. I want you the first-rate!

well honestly i would get a second opinion.my reason is cause when i went to the clinic in oct they told me i was preg.then they sent me to a baby doc who told me i wasnt.so i waited a month an went to clinc an guess what i was preg.they determined i had been preg the whole time.so second opinions can be helpful.
