Should israel be forced to obey the united nations

The stated cause of the invasion of Iraq was because it didn't obey the united nations, why should israel not have to. Oh, I forgot, Israel and the united states are allies and consequently can do whatever it likes to whoever it likes.

The United Nations organization spends about 1/3 of its time and money bashing the tiny country of Israel, meanwhile Africa is plagued by real wars, extreme poverty and slavery.

Israel is pretty damned independent when it comes to anyone, including the US, telling it what to do or how to act when it comes to it's own security. The UN is well known for it's untimely criticism of Israel and usually at a time when Israel is engaging in a little tit for tat, which it's well known for doing.
Like most political leaders, Koffi Annan should step back and be more even handed with his silly outbursts regarding the middle east. It's not as though the UN has come up with any great ideas pertaining to the Israel/ Palestinian conflict, in quite some time.

What nation has given up so much?
The Golan Heights was quite a bit to give up.
The Gaza Strip was quite a bit to give up.
Israel has really been pretty nice in recent years. I think that both sides can come to talk Peace again.
Let's add just one thing. The United Nations is a place where people can talk, instead of shoot.

Israel is a soverign nation, so no, they should not be forced to obey anyone, especially the UN.

I don't like Israels politics, but why should they obey the UN if nobody else does.
