It means do not turn the iron up much. Just a bit warm. If it has print on it turn it inside out.

Use the first heat setting on the iron. If it has a print or embroidery, turn the shirt inside out and iron.

Don't use an old-fashioned iron, you know, with like plaid colored cords and stuff. It means use the lowest temp on your iron. Geez, get your Mom to do it.
