Question

any advice on being a fashion designer or model?
hi, i am planning to either be a fashion designer or model, something that has to do with the entertainment business.
i was wondering if u had some advice because that would really help me. thanks in advance! (^_^)

A fashion designer takes some schooling, but it's good money if you make it! And it's always a good idea t try modeling, it's a hard business to get into, and you need money for a agent, and all that, but if you have the resources and the inspiration go for it! Try going to model shows and watch them closely, and pay attention to what their wearing, no matter what you decide model shows will give you an idea on what to expect. good luck hun!

REALLY?! i have always wanted to be a fashion designer and a model too! i really want to pursue my dream! i also want to have something to do with the entertainment business too!
well for some advice, audition for modeling gigs such as America's Next Top Model
and as far as fashion designing this is what i do:
keep a notebook for all of your dessigns and ideas
draw and design your own clothes

just practice on doing those things this is some of the things you can do

fashion designer: draw some clothes you want to make and then get all the material and make it you could even make a bussiness out of that

model: you could practice posing in front of the mirror and doing your cat walk

I'm from Australia and my best friend was a top 12 contestant on AUSTRALIAS NEXT TOP MODEL. Now the shows over i made her a portfolio of all her photoshoots and we went out to modellling agencies to hand them in. She got into the most recognised Modelling Agency in Australia its called Dally's. Now she's flying all over Australia for shoots and TV commercials. I have just finished my degree in business so we're planning on moving to europe and i'll be her manager. lol im not saying you need to get on to America's next top model... but i do suggest getting a portfolio together You can take photos yourself (make sure they are digital) and you can get them proffesionally airbrushed if you need to, to give it that 'famous' touch. Once you have a portfolio together start canvacing.. hand it into modelling agencies you can even email it online. You might not get great work at first maybe just promotional gigs at clubs and things but you have to start somewhere. Also try and keep your body in shape. You might be tall and thin but agencies look for toned bodies. GOOD LUCK! i really hope i have helped
