That was awful. I hope he's gonna be fine.

well wearing a helmet isn't going to prevent accidents...however it will definitely protect your head. honestly, what was ben supposed to do when a 60 year old woman doesn't watch the road before making a turn. but it's one of the most idiotic things to do ...not wearing a helmet. people never think these accidents will happen to them...until they do! bottom line is helmets help keep you alive when accidents happen whether it's your fault or not. if i had millions of dollars and was QB of the superbowl champs, i'd go and buy a ferrari. i have the greatest job right now and there's no way in hell i'm going to put myself in jeopardy riding a motorcycle.

only way to prevent accidents....don't ride a motorcycle! if ben is lucky enough to play again, i hope he realizes this.

I'm a Steeler fan and I feel really sorry for him... but at the same time I still think he is an idiot for not wearing his helmet. It's really ironic because pretty much all of his injuries could have been prevented had he been wearing his helmet. Just because the state doesn't require it doesn't mean it is smart to go with a helmet. Luckily he will be ok... I hope he learns his lesson.

Yep, I think he should have had one on. I feel bad for him, and all the Steeler fans out there.

I am a Browns fan, one would think the other players in the NFL would have learned a lesson from the mistake our own Kellen Winslow Jr.....who STILL hasn't proven any worth to the team.

I hope Big Ben makes a full recovery.

Helmets don't prevent accidents, but help prevent major head injuries in minor accidents, like the one he had today. This would be a very small story if he had been wearing his helmet.

If I knew a sound mind and body was how I made millions of dollars, garnered fame, and got laid, then you better believe I wouldn't be on a motorcycle to begin with let alone not wear a helmet.

Welcome to the Darwin Awards Ben.

The Steelers should have REQUIRED that clause to be in his contract. As it is, there's nothing they can do about it. I'm a Steeler fan too, and I hate to see this. But it's Rothlisberger's life, and I guess he chooses to live it the way he does. Good thing he even survived this accident...even if his career is over...

I just wish that he thought about his family and teammates when he went out riding without using his head....no punt intended!!
It was a very selfish thing to do!!

It's his choice because there is no law that says he must wear one. I'm a STEELER fan and I wish he would wear one.
