Well, the RAZR is mainly popular for its streamlined good looks. It's (almost) incredibly thin, and its exterior looks very sleek. (Although it looks like it's titanium, a lot of the phone is actually plastic and not as sturdy as it seems.)
On the inside, the phone is nothing special. If you've ever used a Motorola phone, it's basically the same as all of those. I don't care for the way they lay out the menus, etc. and there are not very many features outside of speakphone, bluetooth, and a crappy camera.
If you want something similar but with many more features, go with the Samsung A900 from Sprint. It's got an MP3 player, it can play videos, its camera is wayyyy better, and it looks nicer (in my opinion.)

I've said it once and I'll say it again, this is the most poorly constructed, disgusting popular (so it's not unique at all), and just plain stupid phone.
If you like the design, get a SLVR. More features, not nearly as common, and much better built.
And why does everybody keep calling it a 'razr phone'? It's like saying, ATM machine. Blegch.

I've got a new unlocked and unbranded V3i, not yet available on the US market. Great phone! Megapixel cam, half a gig of storage on a removeable memory card and a video cam that will grab almost 2 hours of video on the card. Great performance and sound. Built-in MP3 player with stereo ear-buds. Bluetooth with full filesystem access. Very easy to hack.

i have heard good and bad. i like the idea of a thin phone like that, but i think it would be to easy to break. i was going to get one but instead i went with the motorola v557. i'm very happy with this phone. most of the time i go with the free phone, but i'm glad i spent the money.

I've got one & it's been a huge disappointment. There are many more phones out there & surely you will find one that you will like.

I like it but it depends on your needs and what you like in a phone. This phone has everything I need in a cellphone and I like the fact that it is small.
