Baby first, then placenta. Then, if you tear (or have an episiotomy) they'll give you a shot to numb the area (similar to waht the dentist gives you, but if you've had an epidural or spinal block, you won't feel it) and stitch you up. Shortly after that, you'll start bleeding out the remnants of your uterus...watery, bloody discharge. I think it's called locchia. It'll last about two weeks, give or take. All women are different.

After the placenta you'll have bloody discharge, like a period but much heavier. If you have tearing, or if they cut you, they will give you a local anesthetic before stitching you up. You're awake, and don't feel a thing. I didn't even feel the injection of the local. The stitches are sore afterwards though, for at least a few days.

After the baby comes out there will be a big splash of the fluids that didn't come out when your membranes were ruptured. (the head kinda plugs the hole). Then the placenta kinda slides out, no big deal. Then, nobody tells you this, but they'll push really hard on your stomach to make sure that everything came out. That kinda sucks. And you'll be so busy looking at your new baby and watching the nurses cleaning it off that you won't notice the doctor giving you numbing shots on each butt cheek and then they stitching you up. Then they'll hand him/her to you and you will have already forgotten all the pain, just like that!

Yes, after the baby comes out the placenta comes right after.
If you have tearing they will usually stitch you unless they think you will heal back okay. Alot of doctors will cut you a little ahead of time so there is no tearing. No you will mostlikely not be asleep. As for medication for the pain, Epidural is what i had its a shot in the back in your spinal cord, It makes you go numb waist down . Hope i helped your curiosity.

If you have tears of are cut they will do the stitches right on the delivery table soon after the afterbirth is out. You will be awake they will use a local shot to kinda numb you. The stitches are self dissolving and they will not need removed. You should ask your OB about what to expect after the delivery.

After the baby or babies are delivered, the placenta is delivered, either vaginally or by C-section. If you tore during delivery, the doctor will stitch you up, hopefully. Some doctors don't & let you heal naturally. My OB cut me from hole to hole (vagina to anus) as my son's shoulder was stuck. I only felt the first shot of numbing medicine. I felt him stitch me though as it'd worn off a bit. That was more painful than the actual labor. I got to rest as my son had to go to the NICU for breathing problems. If the baby's ok, the nurses diaper & wrap the baby & encourage you to breastfeed.

yes, after the baby comes the placenta. If you tear or they have to give you an episiodomy (sp?) , they will stitch you up right then and there. If you have an epidural, you wont feel a thing I promise! If you don't have an epidural, you wont feel it still, not after you just pushed out that baby!

first came my daughter, then the placenta, I got stitches (which I felt for some weird reason) then we sat with my daughter and the family came in. Then they took her to the nursery. I slept for an hour and a half (mind you my daughter was born at 1:30....I went to sleep around 2) and they came in to help me into my room. Then I went back to sleep. I got up around 7 and got my baby and then we just bonded with her. Until they took her to take tests, she had jaundice real bad. It really depends on the hospital you deliver at with what happens.

Well my last delivery... I had the baby then delivered the placenta ( they try to show you it if you want to see it too ) uhhg. Then they will stitch you up. My doctor told me how long it would take and showed me what they used... another fun thing. I would ask not to see all this. I was awake, then they will clean you up and hand you the baby!
