I think that all of the teams have a chance to win, otherwise they wouldn't be there. I don't think Mexico played the strongest of the teams so far, but that could all change. I think the biggest difficulty would be the teams they will have to get past to move along.
First of all, in the second round (I believe they will make it :)) they will start off by playing (most likely) either Argentina or the Netherlands. Both of these teams have very high and legitimate hopes of winning it all. This will be an insanely difficult game for them.
Now, if they are able to make it to the quarterfinals, they will most likely either play Germany, Ecuador, or England.
England didn't look too good in their opening match, but is definitely a team that can beat anyone.
Germany has the home field and has shown they can play offensively this year (although the defense is a little sceptically).
Ecuador is another team that can beat anyone. In qualifications they beat both Argentina and Brazil. If they play at the top, they could go all the way (I wouldn't bet on them, but I wouldn't be surprised).
OK, let's assume that you made it to the semis. Good job, that's awesome I'll be cheering for you, but now you have to face either (most likely, IMO) Czech, Italy, or the favourites Brazil.
Czech I would put around the level as Ecuador, I think they are a good team and can beat anyone if they are playing their best, but I don't give them high odds for winning it all.
Italy is picked as one of the teams that has the highest chances of taking it all. Not an easy team in any sense, they are made up of a lot of amazing players.
Hopefully Mexico won their group, if not, then they will most likely have to face Brazil in the semis. If this happens, Mexico will be a underdog (like they would be to most of the other teams) and I really can't say how good Brazil is, cause they have talent.
OK, congrats, you just made it to the Finals. Now, you have to play one of the teams listed above. You have played your heart out to get here, but there is still one more game to go against another great team. Good luck!!!
I would love to see my neighbours win it all, but I really don't give them great odds. I'm still going to watch all of the Mexico games and cheer for them.
