if you download something scan it for viruses before you open it.
◙ The very best virus scanners are free. Mcafee & Norton Antivirus are mostly hype and won't do as good as the free ones.
◙ Download and install AVG. Use it first and see if it finds any viruses or trojans.

I'd just like to say I've been using limewire for about three years now and never have I had any problems.

do not download executable files, screensaver,compressed files (.rar,.zip,etc) etc except mp1,mp2,mp3,mp4,mp4a,ogm,avi,mkv, and any other standard audio / video format
