It is a good system, but i do recomend an athalon xp or Turion 64. 512 MB of ddr333 memory is good, but upgrade to 1 GB so you can use Windows Vista when it comes out in January (I hope). The hard drive is good, you need a bigger display though; 14 inches is a bit small, I recomend 15 inch or better. It has good wireless capabilities and good graphics. Also, the dvd burner is great.
In all, this system is pretty good.

Dell's are cheap and reliable, but are not the best. The Thinkpad and Toshiba are the top two out their generally, they just cost more. Also consider that the Intel Centrino and Dual Core processors blow any AMD out of the water when it comes to laptops. I would also recommend more memory, memory isn't the most expensive thing in the world and will help to keep your system going (RAM that is).

On paper it looks like a fairly reliable computer, but the important question is what would you like to do with your computer. For simply browsing the internet, sharing photos or emailing it is more than capable.

It's ok, but I'm sure you can get a better deal at dell outlet.
Found one price for you at Walmart:

it's ok, I could say better if I had a price. I am not liking the AMD processor, but I don't have to buy it. that is up to you.
