i told them that i was going to a school that's not the one they are going to. now they hate me and don't want to be my friend anymore. they asked who's idea it was, and i said it was my mom's idea. then they went all ballistic and said they would beat my mom up and yell at her and completely murder her. what should i do?

Let me say WOW! These people are not your friends. If they were they would be able to understand that they could still be your friends even if you are at a different school. And friends don't say they are going to totally murder your mother. i suggest when you start at this new school that you get some real friends and dump the losers you call friends.

Tell them that with attitudes like that it's no wonder your mom picked a school for you that different from theirs! Do you want to go to the same school or are you happy with your mom's choice? If not, tell her the truth!

These don't sound like friends to me. Go to the school YOU want to go to. They are probably having issues dealing with the fact that life as they know it, is changing - and they don't want it to. it sounds like you are looking forward to your future, and on top of that... you'll meet a ton of new friends in college - ones that are mature and supportive of your individual goals in life!

You will find different friends at the new school. If these people who call you friend are acting like this, I would wonder if they were truly my friends.

sounds to me like they really aren't your friends. If they were then they would support you no matter what you did. They don't have to be happy that you all won't be together anymore but they should support you. I would find some new friends.

well if they're acting like that then that shows there really not you friend. hell my best friend for 5 years is moving to Texas with her dad. Ive been through everything with her. its gona suck i live in Illinois.
