Its been almost 3 years since Republicans have caught that mean, bad man Saddam...I know the typical repug response will be its the Iraqi court, bla bla bla....but everyone in USA has spent BILLIONS to catch that mean bad man...why aren't the Repugs at least buzzing about justice being done NOW...not 6 years from now?

No giving the excuse its the "Iraqi court"...Bush is KING of Iraq, why isn't he pushing for justice NOW?

Why are the Republicans letting Saddam have his way in court and letting him throw tantrums and boycotting his own trial?

Republicans have no balls to force this issue?
(Like Bush)

I say give him a fair trial and then take him out and hang him, his days are numbered but should not last for years.

You should take this act on the road. I'm telling you, you could sell out crowds of uninformed liberals in any college town at least. I've read and reread this question so many times and I'm still LMAO every time.

You seem to forget that the Democrats in Congress backed Bush on the war in Iraq, so therefore it is not a Republican thing, it is a U.S. thing. Actually, (even though you don't want to hear the TRUTH), it IS an Iraqi thing. The whole point of going there was to oust Saddam and give him over to a new Democratic Iraqi government. It IS up to them to deal with him. If things were done your way, even the few allies we have left in the coalition would think we had over stepped our authority. I think what you need is a Valium and a couple beers, and then you can sleep it off.

Well, first off, the trial of Saddam Hussein is under the jurisdiction of the Iraqi's, not the US. We have no authority to intervene on his trial, unfortunately. I don't understand why they aren't outraged by the spending (as in where the money is going), but I can tell you that war isn't cheap, so I guess billions would be the least adequate amount to fund for war.

Because killing one person is the answer to world wide terrorism...

If he isn't given a fair trial then the countries involved are in trouble according to the Geneva Convention. Learn about it, and understand that there are some rules in the International Community...althought the US has violated the Geneva convention. This trial is a UN issue, not a George Bush issue, and he doesn't have the right to interrupt the proceedings.

Why should the republicans care - killing Saddam won't solve anything and the goal of the war in Iraq wasn't to catch Saddam. Sure it helps because it freightens the others. But it doesn't mean peace will reign as soon as you capture the leader. There are successors and true followers.

I am a Republican, but unlike most other on the right I am do not believe in the death penalty.

Besides if we rush in and kill him without a fair trail the legitimacy of the Iraqi courts will be questioned. He deserves his due process no matter how heinous his crimes were.

because that was never the point.

... though, due to all the s*** that's going on in this country today, i'm very certain even repugs have no idea what the point actually is and have therefore decided to open their mouths to other issues, such as a bill to celebrate the 600th anniversary of Mongolia and Terry Schiavo.

Have you ever heard of the rule of law? It's called due process for a reason.
