Yes, it may be the best research tool ever invented! But you do need to learn how to use it to best advantage, and how to judge whether a source of information is reliable or not. Some Web sites are just spoofs, designed to trick you into believing they are legitimate. Others are very out of date, and the information is no longer good (even if it once was). But many sites are treasure troves of expert information.

I would answer yes, without a doubt. A writer has to be careful, but more original source documents are available on the web thatn you'd find at any single city library branch. I have to stress, again, that a writer must be very careful to pick out accurate, reliable sources from the garbage beint offered.

no i dont really think so because some websites could give false information and pretty much all books are acurate (or at least from mi expeirence..) but the internet could work if u go to a website that doesnt end in .com because i find those to be the mose unacurate but dont go to wikipedia because any one can post what they belive on there

Yes, it is an excelent source. However since it is so immense you must look out for false sources. I would not use wikipedia because ANYONE can post what they believe is true on that site. I would try a reputable search engine/source (ie Groliers, World Book Online etc.).
