Its called choice. The same way you have the right to go into a store and purchase whatever you want, in whatever size you want so do they. They are not exempt of this choice simply because they are fat.
The problem not only lies with fat people, it with the fashion industry & media that potray, tight and skimpy as sexy & silky. It seems the fashion now is 2 sizes to small is a fit. Regardless of size of a person, two sizes smaller than ones actual size is not a fit.

Because, like me, they absolutely hate to have to browse for clothes in the "plus-size" section and have someone see them there. And they hate for the size 2 checkout girl to pick up their items and smirk at them as they ring them up. Also, I think we think that if we can squeeze it all into something that's 2 sizes too small, it will make us look smaller (it doesn't, it just makes us feel miserable and hurts, too, especially jeans!)

They have high self esteem or they are confident enough to wear something way to small for them. To them they might think it fits and not realizing that when they are in public it disgusts people that have to place their eyes upon such a sight.

because they either bought the clothes before they were fat or as an incentive to lose weight and fit into them better later on.

because fat people are people too. And people think small, tight clothes are sexy.

not all heavy people do this but i agree that it is very unattractive. I am plus size and always dress well.
