The shot you are talking about is called the 'booster shot'. It is a shot that re-enforces your immune system in case you step on any infectious item and it punctures your skin. It is required that you have the shot then by law because its effects of when you were last vaccinated (a baby) would have worn off. Don't worry, I have recently had the shot and it does not hurt very much at all!

30 year diabetic....lets see 30 years times 365 days equals =10950*2 or 3 shots per day = about 22,000 shots, bend over and take it you wont die
