I was told years ago that, unless you get into something messy like mud or tar, you do not need to use soap everywhere on your body and, in fact, it will dry your skin. Only use soap where you actually feel smelly or sweaty, like your underarms, your private parts, feet, whatever. Just let the shower water run on your legs, back, stomach or wherever is not actually "dirty".
The people who have mentioned the water temp are right, too. Hot water dries out skin and makes it itch. Either use cooler water, or be prepared to use LOTS of lotion once you get out. Use a lotion that is fragrance-free and hypoallergenic (it will say) on your legs and wherever else you itch. If this doesn't take care of it, it may indeed be the towel or clothes you put on after. My bf is very allergic to scented laundry products; we have to use Tide Free and Bounce Free for his things.

LOTION! Get a good brand like Johnson & Jhonson, you can get the kind with no smell to it and lotion is definetly the answer, it happens because you have hard water, and it dries out your skin, if you apply lotion all over your body right when you get out of the shower it will help a lot! The first three min. after your shower are when your skin is most absorbant. Good Luck!

Oil of Olay body wash is the best for dry skin. Or you could be having a reaction to the soap you are useing.

Your skin needs to be moisturized - it is extremely dry and needs hydration. Try Aveeno or Lubiderm - the 'good' lotions for extremely dry or sensitive skin - use as often as you shower and you will see results. Remember your skin needs water for hydration just like any other part of your body does.

Try moisturizer. Pat your legs dry then apply moisturizer while you are still a little damp.
You might also be allergic to your towel.

You need to change to a more pure soap.
Try the classic pure soap from the DHC Catalog.

It could be a fungul infection like Athlete's Foot (which doesn't necessarily stay on your feet.) It's worth checking it out with your physician.

maybe you have dry skin. try some lotion. maybe you are allergic to your laundry detergent. you said your soap is fine, so maybe there is a chemical in your water. Where i live our water is horrible, and its city water.
