I hear Bangalore is an expnsive place to live by Indian standards, but I will have money to spend on housing. My family is 4 with two toddlers. Looking for some place where kids can get outside, and ideally not too much a commute to centre of town. House preferable, but apartment ok. We are American. Any suggestions?

try the classified and property papers! There is a monthly called free ads! u can check for places location wise! Jayanagar, J P nagar, Koramanagala, Frazer Town, Cox town are lovely areas to stay. Should be easy to get houses! the closer you get to brigade or MG road the more expensive it gets. But standard of living is much better. Dont go to real estate agents! they love to loot us, they wont think twice to loot you and ur family at 4 times the rates. settle on a price before u see the place, that way they wont change their mind when they see u! hope u have fun in bangalore! for good food some lovely places to eat are : Only place - Church Street, Magnolia - Koramaganagala! wish u were coming a year later, my apartment would have been ready, intend to give it on rent as soon as its done.
