traditions? gee, where should I start! we always have a formal dinner and everybody usually dress up. after that we all gather in the family room and someone would read a christmas story, usually the latetest kids book that came out for christmas. despite how old we are, this is still fun. then after that, we start out story tellling, like I would start and then somebody will continue on the christmas story but you have to make up your own words to add to the story. its really fun because one year, somehow santa got killed in the story. so this goes around and everybody gets a turn to add a part to the story. after that, we then have the traditional desert which I cannot tell the recipe but it is really good. some coconut and strawberries and icecream involve with a litted candle in the middle and we get to make a wish for the new year to come. after desert, we get to do whatever we want to do. some watch movies, some play poker, play video games with the nephews or just chat with the tired people that don't want to do anything but realx. we all have to go to bed by twelf because we get up early to do socks and open presents.

Well this present day normally my favorite factor approximately Christmas Day isn't being competent to do not forget it afterwards :) However, in which I in the beginning come from we not ever used to have a good time Christmas, best the New Year. In truth Christmas or the 'Birth of Christ' was once continuously a devout party celebrated on five-6 January. This is why I nonetheless consider sour and cheated out of a Public Holiday, and if it is not well sufficient intent to dislike Communists then I do not know what's LOL

We listen to & sing Christmas carols & finish up any last minute wrapping or shopping, if necessary. Then my son & I gather up our gifts for my mom & head to her house. We have dinner with her, then open gifts. We make homemade cinnamon rollls to enjoy Christmas morning with breakfast. This year will be different as my grandma passed away Jan 28th. So it's time for a new tradition that we've been discussing already. Before the holiday, all December long, I take my son out in the evenings to go look at Christmas lights. We usually find some really elaborate displays around our city. It's always fun to see what people put up. I also allow my son to have his stocking on Christmas Eve. He's usually up until 11pm or even as late as Midnight & he loves getting to dump out the contents.

I like to listen to Christmas music, turn off all the lights and watch the twinkle of the lights on the Christmas tree and wait until 12 midnight to open one gift, leave 'Santa' some milk and cookies and go to bed after having read "It Was the Night Before Christmas" and during the day watch nothing but movies and shows about Christmas.

I love having a BIG Christmas feast with family and friends. We often spend the time talking about what Christmas was like when we were kids. Usually we just have a blast together playing games, watching movies, and talking all night.

I listen to Christmas music on the radio until about 11:59. Im only 14 but me and my best friend have our watches set on the exact same second, so at exactly 12 o'clock, Christmas Eve he calls and i pick uo exactly 2 seconds after my watch hits 12 o'clock. Then we talk about everything, what we hope to get, santa claus, baby Jesus, how they're trying to remove Christ from Christmas.

I go to Flagstaff, Arizona and this is maybe the only time of Year I spend with my family. I take 2 weeks off work usually starting the 22nd, then the morning of the 23rd I fly to Flagstaff and spend time with my family and eat a lot. You'd think that I would get dog drunk on that day, but I don't want to wake up my favorite time of the year, Christmas with a hangover.

We usually have a few friends over in the afternoon for drinks and we have a ham dinner and then go to Christmas Eve Church and when we get home we watch It's a Wonderful Life.

Christmas eve is my son's birthday, and as a family, we always go out singing carols in the neighbourhood. It's such a fun thing to do -- and many of the neighbours now come out with us. After,it's home for hot chocolate and shortbread. (another Christmas tradition in our house, where my Dad always used to make the shortbread.)
