That sounds like a problem with the other people, not you or your friend.
I'm sure he isn't the only gay guy there. Perhaps the only one brave enough to come out, knowing that uninformed people will look at him weird. Share his bravery; be yourself, hang out with who you want. If people want to hold that against you, that should teach you something valuable about those people. And the next time someone else wants to be themself and come out, or be friends with your friend because he's a good guy, they'll be that much more likely to do it.

YES....and you're not much of a friend if you are thinking of abandoning him like that. Make a stand! He is your friend, so why not worry about him and not the "whole school"??? Grow up. Not everyone is the same, and you'll just have to deal with it. What if the shoe was on the other foot and he left you high and dry???

If you;re worried what the school thinks about you, that's not good. Just try to let go of their pressure on you. be who you want to be, and trust me it will be a **** load better =)
Anyways gay guys r mostly fun, or at least most that I know. Less Bitchy then girls and still someone who you can shop with.

If you value popularity over friendship, then go ahead and ditch him. Otherwise, you could be a true friend and still hang out. If it were a lesbian, I would say differently.
