Usually people use the names interchangeably.

Memory Stick is Sony's proprietary format for digital photos, games and basically any storage. If you have a device that accepts memory sticks, you can only use MemoryStick TM cards in it, and not SD cards, flash cards, etc.

a memory sticks are aflash drive taht holds a hge amount of data. Memory chip is the laymans term for the little memory things in your computer

"memory sticks" (tm) are sony's propetary flash memory that they use in all their consumer electronics. ie; MP3players, cameras etc.
they only fit sony products.
some people call any flash memory device a memory stick...
