One of the fun things about seeing a show in NYC is that you can make is as glam or as casual as you'd like, and nobody glances twice. It's almost as though the choice of restaurant (before or after the show) dictates your attire more so than the theater.

If you'd like to be really fun and dramatic, dress way up. On the opposite end of the spectrum, you can wear denim shorts and a t-shirt. You will never feel out of place.

Enjoy... Broadway musicals are the most fun ever!

If you are going to a day prefomace, may be a nice shirt and trousers. If you are going to an evening prefomace, maybe wear instead of the trousers, a nice skirt.

if you're a girl, a sweater and a skirt. if you're a boy, slacks and a shirt and tie. nice shoes for both.
look like you planned to go there, not like you walked in off the street, and you'll be fine.
