I realise those are both extreme ends of the spectrum. I was only wondering, you can provide a reason why, but PLEASE don't rant!

Oddly enough, most people aren't conservative or liberal. They tend to be both and neither. It is a position that is called a moderate.

Now, you might be thinging of static or dynamic, often radical. These were the old definitions. A conservative prefered the status quo... to remain static. A liberal prefered to change the system, to be dynamic. Now adays it's the Conservatives who are more dynamic.

The definitions or Republican and Democrats are nearly obsolete because they both with to have a large government who interferes on their behaf, while nothing gets done.

I believe that most people are moderates, like Benjamin Franklin. They want to see change and they will fight for it when they need to. But first all things must be concidered and a good combination of logic, morals, and feeling must be used.

The specific political beliefs are less important to this discussion, only because you can be a conservative or a liberal and still not be a good leader or working for other people.

Here's a litle thought. If you think of the political spectrum as a line, you miss out on the way things look. Remember, Hitler was a liberal and Moussilini was a conservative. But they were both authoritarian. You would need to draw a second line upand dow crossing the Conservative/liberal line and label it authoritarian/libertarian.

Or you can equate it like this:
conservative = same
liberal = change
authoritarian = control
libertarian = chaos

You can ad a third dimension called logical/emotional as well.

As you get to the center, you get the moderate sphere. It is too complicated to explain it all is a few words. But it would make a great social-science project for a school, using the 3d model and examples in the news.

I hope by 'dont rant' you mean for people not to talk madly. But this is a question that cannot be answered easily, if you want a reason why.

In my case, though, I'm not sure. I'm either a liberal conservative or a conservative liberal. What I mean by that is, I believe in some of the things the conservatives do, like hard work, good ethics, and other things. But I don't feel as intolerant as most conservatives on gay and lesbian issues. I'm not religious, so I don't let Cheesus cloud the issue.

Liberal

Liberal. I believe that the government is the best way to help the most people. I don't believe that we should be handing out money to everyone but actually helping. Being sure that big business isn't stepping on the little people, that the vulnerable are protected, that children are given a chance no matter economic class they come from. I believe that we should not be nation building, that we should be protecting the environment and working to preserve the Earth for our children. I am proudly a Liberal.

Neither. While sometimes I lean towards liberalism, I allow myself to make my own decisions in all matters individually. I have never been good at settling for one specific side politically. Each issue varies so why think only one way if some ways might be wrong for that particular situation? Neither side is always right. I have learned that through my own experiences in life. Be blessed!

Mostly conservative.

I have opinions on things based on what I believe, not the label. So yes, I do have some views that tend to be more liberal, but overall, I'm conservative.

I'm a bit of both. I try to be conservative with resources, yet always wish to be liberal in expression, altho I don't always say or do enough in the direction of the latter.

I'm a Moderate, mostly I lean liberal, but sometimes I lean Conservative. It's hard to agree with one party 100%.

Neither. I'm National Socialist. "Nationalist" as opposed to communist, and "Socialist" as opposed to capitalist. Both liberalism/communism and conservatism/capitalism are the ruin of the nations and seek the enslavement of mankind.
