Interesting question since you don't say what makes you need to ask that. I found supervising challenging in that I had to put some of my gut instincts aside for a "greater good". For me, I didn't want to forget the human component so I went back to teaching and I am happier for it.

If your worried then you best change your ways. Be firm, but kind and polite. Do Not treat people like they are stuck on the bottom on your shoes, they will pull the carpet out from under you.

Basically most bosses including yourself are to self centered and think too little of their employees welfare.
