Just how do you figure it violates civil rights? A civil right is a right that is codified (written into law for you libs). The most famous example is the Civil Right Act of 1964 which bars discrimination based on race, creed, religion, national origin, etc. It has been amended many times, but it is still in effect.

For instance, you see news stories every now and then about airline flight attendants or waitresses being fired for gaining too much weight. Ever wonder why the courts uphold the firings? Because it is perfectly legal to discriminate based on weight.

There is plenty of discrimination that is legal. And last time I checked, gay marriage was not guaranteed by any law. As a matter of fact, many states have already added effective constitutional bans to gay marriage in their jurisdiction by defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

I can not understand the way that some of you people think!!!! Were you raised by the same standards as Charles Manson? If you want to suck another man's dick, go right ahead but, don't try to make me accept it. A.I.D.S. is a disease that is mostly contained within the homosexual community except for those in third world counties that haven't even "discovered soap".

If homosexuality was "normal" then, 2 men or 2 women could procreate. Men were meant to be with women and women were meant to be with men. Have you every heard of "biology"? Get your head out of your a.s.s. and stop worrying about someones sexual attractions and start being more concerned about what is going on around you that could affect you and your way of life (i.e. terrorism, communism, etc).

I do not know about the bill itself, sorry. What I do know is that they are usually backed by Republicans to create a wedge issue and get all church goers out to vote.
You need to let everyone you can know that politicians who introduce this are shallow and have no ideals on what to do with real issues, like election reform, the truth about what really happened on 911, the fact that our troops are being exposed to depleted uranium and will come home radioactive, the fact that Bush and company have committed acts of treason and should be indicted and removed from office. Health care, living wages, corporate welfare, corporate fraud, if your congressmen are trying to get out the vote on non-issues then put the word out that they are part of the problem in America today, they are shallow, they side with a treasonous administration, and they have no clue as how to fix the problem. Not only should they be thrown out of office they too should be investigated by the States Attorney General for FRAUD, they occupied the halls of congress as your representative and all that they can bring to the table to talk to the citizens about is a non-issue but a wedge tactic. If they are so clueless as to what faces this nation after being in congress and all that they can produce is a non-issue, then they have been lax ed in their responsibilities or they have committed FRAUD by impersonation of a congressman.

Since almost 50% of straight marriages end in divorce, even higher numbers in the Bible Belt, I don't see how it could be worse than straight marriage.

For the thumpers, Jesus said absolutely nothing about homosexuality. If you are going by the OT then why are you wearing clothes of 2 cloths, eating pork, going to church on Sunday instead of Friday night, and when are you going to stone those miserable kids of yours for disobeying you?

I will be happy to provide a truck load of rocks.

i think it is a great idea
And anyone who thinks that they shouldnt have the same rights as everyone else, then they are retarded. Everyone deserves the same rights.
And as for the dumb a@s that said they are the ones with all the aids...you really should grow up. IT is people like you, that make living their lives difficult. Noone picks on you when they say people shouldnt marry animals, now you go back to your pet (wife) goat, and leave them alone.

The only thing I can tell you is that gays should have the right to legally marry like any other couple in love.

I really don't care much for those sort of bills. Simply because they don't affect me. Cause I'm not gay.

You might say it does...but it really doesn't.
