To download songs (about $0.99 each) use iTunes (which should have came with your iPod.) If you would like to use your own mp3s with your iPod, open iTunes, click "library" (left) then drag'n'drop your mp3s into there. Then, connect your iPod. If it does not say "Updating iPod" near the top of the iTunes window, right click then iPod's name (to the left again) and choose "Updat iPod". This will transfer any iTunes/new mp3s in your library.

Here are two ways to download music to your iPod for free:

Direct P2P

1. Download Limewire from www.limewire.com.
2. Search for the songs you want in the program.

-This is probably the easiest way to get music, but you could come across files that are corrupted and won't play correctly.

Bit Torrent

1. Download BitComet from www.download.com.
2. Open the program and go to torrent sites such as www.isohunt.com, www.torrentspy.com, www.thepiratebay.org, etc. and find the songs you want.

-This is a bit more complicated but all the music come in the form of entire albums with no corrupted files.

If you are after individual songs, the first method is probably the best. However, if you are after music collections and albums, the second method is much better.

If you bought an iPod the iPod came with a disk in the case with iTunes to install it. If for some strange reason it didn't, go to www.itunes.com and download it.
The cost for downloading music on it is .99 cents a song.
Videos are $1.99 a song
Whole Music albums are $10.00 or $10.99 an album
You download by finding the song you want and then there will be a button right across from it on the right hand side saying Download this song with the price of it next to the download button.

You have to download iTunes.

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/

Once iTunes is dowloaded, click the "Music Store" tab which is where you go to actually buy the music.

Yes it cost to download music unless you already have music on a c.d. and want to put it on your iPod. Go the music store, then choose the song(s) you want, click "buy music" next to the song that you would like to download, and it will download right away.

You have to sign up for an account with your email adress, billing information, and all that kind of stuff. If will give you the information once you get an account.

Songs-$.99 each
Videos/T.V. Shows-$1.99
Albums-$9.99-11.99
Some things are free, but ONLY if it says free on the song/video tab.
