Maybe the fact that you are married and have two kids by the age of twenty has something to do with that. It is easier to be successful and have your own things when you start a family a little later in life. Starting a family fresh out of high school or while in high school is like starting in the hole. You got a long way to go before you can climb out and break even, let alone get ahead. It is not impossible, but even without the family, it takes time and hard work.

It depends on what you prioritise.

You prioritised getting married and having children. That's your choice. Other people prioritise getting an education, a good job and buying a house before they have children because they realise that it's harder to be successful and financially stable the other way round.

One thing to remember though is that success can never really be measured in monetary terms. We each set our own goals in life and evaluate our own success taking into consideration what's most important to us. If someone was the richest person in the world but a bad parent, I wouldn't class them as successful. There's no reason why you can't be a very successful mother by spoiling your children with love and attention rather than material possessions.

It's a capitalistic society kiddo. Being just 20 with two kids indicates you probably didn't have the opportunity to get advanced education or develop skills that are in demand that would pay enough for you to be where you want. It's never too late though so if you want things, the avenues are open for you to go out there and get them.

It is not hard having your own things being young and marry. It is all about you determination and drive. What do you want out of life and what are your hobbies. You need to locate a church in you community for they can help you get priorities straight. You need to set up free checking account and get all assistance you can get. You are dependent on other people to get you by. Get a good job, put the kids in day care if you have to, and rent an apartment. Work hard! You'll get by.

Well, (I'm not trying to put you down or anything) my suggestion is to go back to college and get a degree. Then it will be easier to get a job. Most jobs that pay well require AT LEAST an associate's degree.
