A Bit of a Background Check and Update:

I saw his picture once in Paris Match, late 2001 Editon.

It seems he used to vacation in Europe with some of his siblings (about 20). He went to London and went for a walk in Hyde Park and for a ride on the Thames (about what almost anyone would do if they were in London but did not live there). According to a kids' book on Osama bin Laden's biography, he also went to Sweden. He was teenager around 14 years old at the time.

He went to a Paris nightclub, too in the course of his globe-trotting. According to the report by the French publication, a fight broke out in the bar/nightclub. You know how he was from "a very fine family" or from "one of those families" "with high expectations of him", and was therefore leading a well-protected life? After his parents got to hear about the fight in the nightclub and that he was there, he and his siblings were not allowed to go either to nightclubs or to that particular one.

He also had a thing about clothes and fashions. He was shown in a picture in his nice clothes and bell bottoms.

He was reported to have been very polite and to have shown no signs of being a mysogenist. I saw his picture, and he did not look a lot like the sneering guy in the recent pictures. He looked genuinely pleasant - and not derisive - and seemed to have an easy smile. His face looked broader than in recent pictures and his nose did not look very Semitic (Pardon my political incorrectness!)

Oh yes, and he also had a Yummy Mommy, it seems!

In short, he was almost normal, apart from having had the luxury of engaging in international travel with about 20 siblings, all of whom were about the same age.
