I swam with contacts and goggles for the last 2 years, i was a college swimmer and everyone that wears contacts wears them in the pool with goggles.

Just make sure that if you get too much water in your goggles, to rinse your contacts very well after you get out with cleaning solution because chlorine can be absorbed and can really cause you trouble.. ( never happened to me.. but thats what the doc told me )

And if you go to the sea and dont feel like wearing them.. just close your eyes when teh waves hit you.. and rinse your contact afterwards . you'll be fine

If you plan to open your eyes under water, wear goggles or a mask. If you aren't going to be swimming with your eyes open under water, then you don't need goggles (and make sure you keep your eyes closed if/when there is lots of splashing)

It depends on what you plan to do. I almost always wear my contacts, no goggles, when beach lounging. But if you plan to be active or open your eyes under water, you definitely need goggles. I lost a contact last weekend while surfing!

You should wear goggles. The water can wash your contacts out and you can also get an infection.

You can wear them in the water...as long as you keep your eyes closed. I lost my contact the first day because my eyes were open in the water. I only brought one backup pair. So, it you want to open your eyes in the water, wear goggles.
