The problem is your age so, if you truly want a job, you might have to do something you don't particularly want to do. Unfortunately, that is life. In many states, you cannot be formally employed before the age of 15 or 16. Check your state guidelines. If you can't, you can always do:
a paper route
mow lawns for others
shovel snow in winter
offer a dog walking service
babysitting
housecleaning

At 14 I worked at a home daycare as an assistant. If you look in the classifieds section of a newspaper, usually under "Services" or something to that effect, there is a category for home daycare businesses. I called all of them and explained that I was a responsible teenager looking for a part time job. Usually they pay "under the table" which means they don't use a payroll nor do they claim you on their taxes. It could work for you and it's worth a shot! Good luck! Otherwise just enjoy being jobless while you've still got an understandable excuse!

There's no such thing as a lousy job, just people who are too lousy to do it. If you can stay at ANY job for a year (or at least the whole summer), without being fired, or quitting, that will give you work experience to get a better job. You work your way up the ladder, that's how the world works. If you can find a shortcut up the ladder, good for you, but don't hold your breath waiting for a lucky break.

I feel your pain! To tell you the truth, there aren't many jobs for people under 16. I know because I'm 15 and I've been searching hard. You're lucky because I haven't found ANY jobs in my area! I advise you to keep on looking or to take a second glance at those jobs you don't like.

What worked for me when I was 14 was to get a summer job. Try to find a job that's hiring for summer help. And of course, being under 16, a job permit will have to be obtained.

Well my friend she is fourteen and she got a job working at a nearby snowball stand. Also another is going to start working as a secretary for an animal clinic, which consists of carrying the animals to the examination room and signing people in.

Well, you're not to young to get a job. You're just to young to get a job at stores and stuff. When I was 13 in middle school, I use to sell candy. You have to ask for the school's permission, but I didn't. I just sold candy. I sold pickles, candy, sometimes soda's, and got about 45 dollars a week from it. No lie. You just have to think about your money and use it wisely. I'm 15 and have done plenty of things to get money (like begging my mom and dad for it, lol.) Here's a few things you could do.
-Sell Candy
-Wash Cars
-Sell Lemonade (Old school I know, but still great for summer days when everyone's at the neighborhood pool)
-Take care of pets (Walking dogs, washing cats, something like that)
-Computer graphics. When I say computer graphics, you could make calendars, posters, banners, cards, etc. for people who need them.
-Homework Help
-Computer Tutor
-You could type certain things needed for people. Maybe charging a certain price the number of pages or words typed.
-You could also do teamwork.
-Lawn Work
So see! there's all KINDS of things you could do at your age! Hope this helps! And...if you want anymore idea's or need any help, please feel free to email me at lvbs793@yahoo.com

The best thing to do would be to find someone who owns a private business and apply there. I, for example, got my first job at 11 feeding horses & cats for a Lippizzan owner.
