why should there be a difference?
If the belief that a soul is really the controlling force of our bodies then surely the only difference is in the direction of commands.

That's a toughie. At first I thought it was ez b/c I always think of my dog's soul as being much more pure than mine, but also simpler (and for this we love dogs). However, I am atheist and am not really sure about souls- life force would be more accurate for me and I know how dumb that sounds. It seems that some animals, such as dogs would have big souls, or forces, and they would be, as mentioned above, pure because they don't commit injustice or sins if you will. But I have to think that altho all living things would possess the same amount of life force/soul, it just doesn't seem right when you talk about a snake or another reptile, say. Perhaps there is a step system! not sure, but if I were a believer, I would sure say that dogs are as close as we can get to experiencing heaven.

Souls are personality. People and animals have 'personality'. But, mankind is also spirit. In the Bible in the book of Genesis, God 'breathed' into man and he became a 'living soul'. At that time, all animals were living....but at no time did God breath into an animal to create them. Man became part of God becuz God breathed (spirit) into him. You will also notice that God did not 'breathe' into Eve ...she was merely taken FROM Adam and therefore, had 'spirit' thru Adam.

humans have a soul (the independent free will God factor search engine) and will be judged on choices they've made in their life----animals do not have souls but they do pocess a spirit this spirit is and it is not judged by the choices they've made because they are not accountable for choices for they are creatures of instinct and causals--but their spirits are and shall ever be.........

the question is irrelevant, it does not have a base. What Soul is anyway? Does anyone knows? Doubt it...Guessing, yes, but there is no definition of it so far, only guessing.
