I agree with the first answerer. Yes, you can injury your cornea. I did it once. It is very painful. You might as well feel like you have a rock in your eye! They will give you an eye patch and medication. Light makes it very sensitive. When I had that happen to me they used a slit lamp to look at the cornea after droping a drop of dye in your eye and then numbing it. If you ask them, and you look in the mirror afterwards in the dark...you can see where the scratch is. Kind of cool if you ask me. Good luck!

My friend felt like she had a grain of sand or something in her eye, and when she went to the doctor, he said she'd scratched her cornea somehow. It was very painful and she had to wear a patch over her eye for a while.

corneal injury is very painful and very dangerous because it can lead to blindness.pt should be given topical antibiotics and NEVER give topical steroids.if it is ruptured it is an extreme emergency,in such cases corneal implants are suggested.
