I am American and am interested in Moving to Trinidad (in the West Indies).
They speak english (like I do) and racially I should fit in. (I added these two things in because I know that these are two obstacles for alot of immigrants moving to new counties, so I thought I should mention it.)

Do you think it will be a hard adjustment? I dont know anyone there.

How should I go about finding a job before I get there?? or Grad-Schools? (How does a US Bacholors degree convert there?)

Trinidad and Tobago's immigration laws do not provide for any exemptions from obtaining
entry visas and work permits. However, the following facilitation policies apply:

Reciprocal agreement: By virtue of the Visa Abolition Agreement, nationals of Brazil,
Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Singapore, Sweden,
Switzerland, the United Kingdom and the United States are not required to obtain visas to
enter Trinidad and Tobago.

Short-term work visits: Persons intending to work in Trinidad and Tobago for less
than 30 days do not need work permits.

Nonprofit organizations: A work permit is required for a nonprofit organization
intending to hire a foreign national. However, the application and final approval fees are
waived.

Free Zone operations: Under the Free Zones Act, workers employed by approved
enterprises engaged in free zone operations are not subject to work permit application
procedures.

It could be a hard adjustment because their life style is different. Good luck.

If I are living in yet another nation I could assume to study and talk their language. Just like folks who come from different international locations will have to study to talk English. I'm with ya lady.

your best bet is to do some research before going and getting your facts together so you know what is what before arriving.
