Family Guy for me!!
I've watched American Dad too, and although it's funny, Family Guy is far better... I know that everybody loves Stewie best, but for me, Peter Griffin is the funniest guy on TV. He's wrong in soooo many ways!! (Check the episode when he discovers is feminine side, and decides to breast-feed Stewie) Just Wrong!!!
Fans of the show should check out Seth Green's show Robot Chicken... very good if you remember all those 80's toys!

Easily Family Guy. Both are kind of limited to the "random gag" format, but American Dad feels like a dumping groud for ideas Seth MacFarland decided weren't good enough for Family Guy. They're both pretty similar. I really can't see anyone prefering American Dad or anyone being excited by American Dad by it's own merit in general.

While Family guy has more of those "I can't believe they just did that" moments, American Dad has bigger "OMFG, can they say that on TV" moments. That being said, Family Guy was first, has an evil monkey, and is just plain better in all respects.

Family Guy. I've watched about a dozen American Dad eps, but they're just not as funny as Peter and his family... except Roger; he's priceless.

Family Guy cuz when American dad came out it was like an copy of family guy. just like futurama and the simpsons are similar cuz they have the same creator.
