Dr. Zhivago with Omar Sharif was a thought evoking movie about the Bolshevik Revolution and the terrors involved therein. It showed how the children were taught to tattle on their parents' behaviors and conversations. This was pretty bad within itself. Then I saw the devastation that Dr. Zhivago went through, because he lost his mother as a very small child. He lived a privileged life and was adopted by a wealthy family. I believe that his adoptive father was a doctor himself. Anyway Dr. Zhivago's adopted sister and he grew up together and then they are married and had a child. He went along with the political scene of the time, but he was not a part of it. One day he found love with another woman. This woman who was Julie Christie, was the person that he took up with, and moved into somewhat more serious hardship than anyone could ever imagine. He stayed with her and had a child. Yet when he allowed her to be rescued into a safer zone, he did not go with her. His love for Russia was more overwhelming than anything. It was very, very sad because he never found that which was missing from his life. This was a dead mother's love and a feeling of utter uncertainty about himself. He was one handsome thing. Peace and God Bless.
