They don't make as much money as you think they do. Beyond that, they are doing their jobs in reporting what is happening across the country. They report the nations outcry against unfair gas prices. What makes me mad about it is the profit margin for the oil companies. They feed us garbage about supply and demand and then turn around and report a 65% increase in profits. They are rolling in billions of dollars that they are gouging out of the working family's pockets. Getting ripped off is getting ripped off, no matter how much money you make. It isn't the reporters fault that the oil companies are ripping off the country.

The news has become somewhat of a farce. News is supposed to be unbiased, but as you discover, often our anchors do more than report the news.
I think you are a little off because people that do the news reports are not millionaires most of the time.
Also we pay about $3.45 here, so stfu

People can still be upset about how fast the price of gas has risen in the past year, even if they make a lot. And your local news people probably don't make as much as you think.

Well they want to act normal to become relavent to the watcher. But I think you don't like this. Am I sensing correctly? Most people will think, "Oh yeah, gas is going up. Maybe I should watch this station to be updated on gas prices because it conserns them too." Hope I helped you think like someone else!

I agree with you but reporters are suppose to be, in a way, "the voices and opinions of America" but I also want to add that President Bush has nothing to do with the excelerated gas prices but people will believe what they want to believe, no matter how assinie it is.

It is less money that they can spend on other things. Most people are use to getting what they normally get and when inflation occurs it is the natural tendency to complain. We become accostomed to a certain lifestyle and when things change unless they are for "the better" they/we get upset. Its less money for the new pair a jeans, second hummer, summer house....you know what I am saying people aren't use to getting less.... They are use to getting what they get....more and more and more things.

Face it, TV journalism is 25% news and 75% showbiz so it has to sound dramatic. Kind of reminds you of the millionaire politicians, stars, etc. who know how the little man feels

They knew the 'little people' are struggling to pay for these things so they are trying to act like they understand us.The public relations feel if we have common ground we will watch that news station vs. one we feel we don't.

Your 'hang the rich' attitude will hold you back, if it hasn't already.
There are legitimate complaints concerning abuse of power that could be lodged against some wealthy people,
but chit-chat by news presenters who are giving us information is not one.
