Freedom is a realtive thing. The affordances a 'country' provides to their citizens allow certain culturally important values.
A people that crave and actively will a world where they work 18 hours a day to build the tallest tower in the universe would not be slaves if their goals were all the same.
Working would be freedom. Through their construction they are most human, most in tune with their passion. If we told a worker that they are unfit to work today, she may become very upset and demand her right to carry out her happiness.

You can think like an individual, but not act individual. If you're a mass murderer, murdering people (acting like you want to) certainly infringes upon their rights. However, murder victims infringe on murderers' rights by not wanting to be murdered and not allowing the murderers to murder them. So if the victims give up their rights (after all, they don't want to infringe upon the murderers' rights), then everyone will be happy, because the murderers will be able to murder, and everyon else will be dead.
Something doesn't quite work in that philosophy, now does it? We can't all be always happy.

there is no such thing as freedom as long as there is a government. do you honestly feel like you are free? can you do what you want and not be persecuted for what you do?
