it has been so hot lately for a few different reasons. there is a high pressure weather system located over the east atlantic currently and often referred to as a 'bermuda high'. this ridge of high pressure generally steers smaller weather systems away from its clockwise circulation. the entire southeast/gulfcoast region is experiencing severe drought because rain has been buffered away or around the huge area of high pressure which has basically existed since the storm. the jetstream plays a role as well. according to a recent study published in the journal of science, it has shifted in an unusual manner (further away from equator) possibly affecting weather patterns like the bermuda high. then there's global warming or whateve you want to call it. sure it's possible but in my humble opinion it has more to do with cyclical changes of the planet.
the humidity in the south is also a killer. especially when we have high temps too. but today, we had less humidity based on alberto being to our east which increased the wind out of the north/northeast which brought in dryer, cooler, less humid air.
update 6/14 - hot as heck, 99+,no more northerly dry winds. bad drought conditions still exist and today it was announced we/gulf coast are in worst drought since 18something. seriously.

cause it has to be hotter here because we do it bigger we do it better and we do it hotter down here in the dirty south. South Louisiana weather is the best place for hot weather, we have more rivers and lakes to enjoy in the summer.Great places like the Tickfaw River!!!

yeah okay-Your area is humid. I live in AZ, which is hotter but feels better because of the dry heat. Nope-no suggestions.
