This is more of an opinion question than fact. It's a lot easier to write your own opinion than someone else's, so I suggest you do this on your own.
Sorry; I know that's not what you wanted to hear...

The key word there is "your views". Not stranger's views. I don't understand this Homework Help category. If kids ask others to do their homework, how do the learn? That's kind of the purpose of homework!

Lil Bit just proved my point. Her reply is full of misspellings and 'chat room' abbreviations. I fear for an entire generation of kids who will be going out into the work force without even basic communication skills.

Perhaps if they did their own homework and stayed off the internet chatting with their friends, this situation would improve.

For:
Continuous schooling decreases the chances of students forgetting large portions of what they have learned over long breaks.

Having more school time provides students with more learning opportunities ie) adding another semester would allow them to take a larger variety of classes per year

Against:

It would cost the school board more to pay teachers for extra time

Many parents would pull their children out during the summer for several weeks to take family vacations

Students might feel overloaded and burnt out going without time off to recharge

It's much more worthwhile to just answer it yourself.

P.S. Maybe performance might improve if the students did their own homework.
