I got my first tattoo last year and I will be 30 this year. Its a personal reflextion of your life. You will remember the time you got your tattoo(s). What was going on in your life at that time. I look at it as a photo album of your life for the world to see.
I suggest something personal, something that makes you, you. Like Astrology signs. Their never a fad nor can anyone take that away from you. Since your a graphic artist. Is there a design/shape you always doodle with? Start with that and create!!!

I had all the same negative thoughts already posted til I turned 30 then some how I decide what the heck. My life was finally balanced so I got a ying yang on upper arm. Now whatever you design since you did it you'll have one that's special no matter what. Wish I had that talent!
As for placement if you keep it in a "hidden" spot it may a bit more painful. But women seem to deal with tattoo pain alot better than most men so you should be fine. Have fun and if in 10 years you regret it just have it taken off.

i got my first tattoo when I was 29 or 30. I dont even really know why. I got a clown doing the splits on my lower back. I love it. In fact the next year IA got a frog eating a fire fly on my foot. This year I got my husbands name on my ring finger. I am not what people would think of as the typical tattoo person. I am am married have 9 kids and go to church every Sunday. I teach preschool and sign language to babies and there parents. I have not yet regreted my tattoos. I want more. Make sure you get something that you really like. I love sad clowns I have collected them since I was little that is why it was a good choice for me. I like it when people get tattoos little ones like you want in places other than the obvious like your ankle or shoulder. That is so worn out. Maybe the middle of your neck or your thigh.

If you have thought about it throughly and you want to do it, then go on and get one. It is not that big of a deal like some people like to make it out to be.
I got my first tattoo last year and I am older than 30 and I love it.
I got it high up on my arm where a short sleeve shirt will cover it if I need for it to be covered. I thought about it for two years before going on and doing it.
If you are not sure about it , then wait until you are ready.
It did not hurt much either, the person who did my "tat" was very gentle. Good Luck

I do like tattoos myself .I have one right now and I got it when i was 27 for my birthday. It is a touch bigger than I expected but not bad. I have a peacock on a branch with a single red rose. It can be seen in my profile ( I believe) on my upper right chest. I am now 39 and holding LOL and thinking of doing it one last time . It all comes down to this, can you live with it for the rest of your life if you can then I say go for it and get anything you want. If you can not then the answer has got to be no. In today's era we will have nursing homes filled with both men and women covered in ink and full of extra holes. Boy am I glad I work there now. I'd hate to see what we're going to look like for the future generation of caretakers .ha ha !! No really give it careful thought and do what is in your heart, you only live once. Enjoy!!!!!

I waited until I was 50 to get one. I could never figure out what I wanted and knew it was more painful to have it removed than put on, so I waited until I was sure, and even then I got it where I can cover it if I want. There is still a lot of social stigma attached to being tattooed unfortunately, but you shouldn't let that stop you if you want one. I still love mine but I've only had it a few years. Do find a good artist and make sure you see work he/she has done first. Communicate clearly what you want.

I got mine when I was 32..with my mother in law who was nearly 60. It's a personal choice for sure, I thought about it for a long time before I decided to do it..but, I made the right choice, I really like it..thing is now I want another, and everyone told me that would happen. The one I have now is on my lower back..and I can't decide if I want to make that bigger or have one on my foot. The thing is now it's easy to cover if I don't want to show it, on my foot- not so easy. If you want a small/dainty one I like the back of the neck..

well...theres nothing harm I suppose for celebrating the self with a tattoo. Its also great that you have decided not to go for anything big or extravagant. but do take care that theres no objection raised from your work place.some employer may not like their employees displaying with their tatto in work environ, If i presume that you work in a corporate culture. I suggest you to get your tattoo done on your arms. Nothing like a place like this where you can display it or you can hide it ..with what kind of shirt you wear... sleeve or sleeveless. Also remember that tattoo dosent wearout that easy.so take care about, where you put it.
Ps: just totell you...i've yet to tattoo. And,Iam not your age.But the answer sure is practical.

I got my first at 25 and my second at 27. Be aware they are addicting. I am planning to get about 4 more, and I am 33. I am not an ink freak, its just fun.
Maybe a cute butterfly or something on your hip. It can be hidden when you want it to be. Just make sure its something meaningful because you will have it forever. If you have kids maybe their names in a cool design. Make sure you go to a good artist, the cheapest are not the best, good tats cost money. You don't want a cheap one.
Good luck!
