Use a Bounce Dryer sheet and rub it against all your furniture. The softener in the sheet makes it easy to pick up the hair.
Put on a pair of rubber gloves. Dip the gloves in cool water and shake off excess water. Rub the glove over the furniture in a rolling motion, and the glove will collect the hair. Wipe off the glove as needed, redampen and continue until the hair is picked up.
Wrap tape around your hand with the sticky side out and pat it over the furniture to pick up hair. This method works best in smaller areas with less hair.
Run a damp sponge over the furniture, using downward strokes to pick up hair.
Run a soot-and-dirt-removal sponge over the furniture, again working in a downward motion. The sponge is used dry but may be washed and reused dry as needed.
Nylon bath puffs, used dry, are also an effective way to remove pet hair from the furniture.

You can buy rollers with sticky tape on them, but that's an expensive way to go. Get a roll of masking tape at the hardward store, put it in a loop around your hand, with the sticky side out, and swipe up the dog hair. Then train the dog to stay off the furniture!

I have 2 dogs (Choc. Lab that sheds alot and a Golden) and I own a Dyson (vacuum) DC07 "Animal". This is THEE BEST vacuum ever! It comes with an attachment that is a mini power brush that gets the hair off of furniture and stairs really well.
I will never own any different vacuum than this one. They are about $550 but well worth it.

You can use one of those reversible lint brushes. It works miracles for the cat hairs on my furniture. OR I buy a roll of broad tape, line the couch with huge strips and then just rip then off. You can also dampen a clean utility rag & and give a good stiff swipe across the area pet hair, it lifts it off like magic.

I made my own sticky roller with a rolling pin and duct tape works just as good and is cheaper than buying them at the store.Just place the tape on the roller sticky side up.It really works.

Cheap and easy...go to drug store and buy box of latex gloves and put them on and run your hands (with gloves on) over furniture. Or another alternative is to buy a WIDE roll of masking tape and wrap it around your had with STICKy side out and run hands over furniture.

Use some anti-static spray first, then vacuum.
I keep a dog blanket on the couch where my dog likes to hang out. It's much easier to wash that, than to clean the couch :-)
