I'll try to escape it 'N run if I knew that I couldn't stop it by any means.
Basically I'll try to fix what I did in order to vanish this punishment. If I failed, I'll try to run away from it.

Some will lie to themselves and hope that the torture will end.

Some will face the torture and feel stronger for it.

Some even like the torture.

You should probably ask this question of a person with AIDs, Cancer, or on Dialysis. They know the answer.

You wake up, pretend there is some reason for living, family whatever, you take your torture, you try and gather your strength, and you pray that it will all be worth it in the end. That is one of their answers.

Don't think of this as morbid. Think of this as one facet of reality.

Eventually the person dies. That seems to stop it at least for the one who dies. The survivors are tortured by their failure to make the pain stop and the truth that some how they didn't want the torture to stop. It is hard to let go of what we know and love and harder yet to take part in the torture.

Try volunteering at a clinic if you want a better perspective. The patients will tell you more.

oh well, I was gonna use my saving to buy a property right next to David Beckham's crib's.
yeah, I lost a limb fishing sharks to get the money but it's totally worth it.

But since I can't stand more pain, here's a better idea.
I'll use them to get some doctor to permanently numb my body then I'll walk straight to Victoria and slap her cos she's so lucky.

Hey, I'm about getting torture anyway and I think I can handle her, she's skinny as stick.

Sigh
Like that's not happening already?

Depends in degree to how bearable it was.

The Myth of Sisyphus by Camus talks about it pretty well.

Would a person in the most unbearable circumstances be wrong to end their life?

If I knew I couldn't stop it, I would probably leave my family a note, write up a will, and see how long I could last before going crazy and killing myself.

for the rest of my life?
i'll find out the reason
and if it's not worth it... and i can't stop it... then i'll die
if it's for a reason.... maybe i'll accept it
