Have lived in Florida and now Georgia. Want to try another state. Was thinking about Austin, Texas. What do you think? Ever been there, is it nice? Or can you suggest a better place where I should move. Keep in mind I want to stay away from snow, severe heat, hurricanes, earth quakes, tornados, etc. and go somewhere clean, not to expensive, with a good education system and roughly 50-300,000 people.

Try maybe San Antonio, Phenoix, Las Vegas, Seattle

Well your choices are limited if you put weather into consideration. I lived in GA for most of my life and worked for an airline. I transferred to Jackson, MS for a year. Private schools are better there, housing is cheap, job market is limited because of how small it is. Just depends on what you do. No traffic compared to Atlanta. Then I went to Vegas for a year. Dry heat is easy to get used to. Lots of money earned there. Housing is expensive, but you make more out there to supplement that.

Austin is the live music capital of the world. It was one of my choices, but I just wasnt crazy about Texas. No matter where you choose, just go where the wind blows you and never look back.

i'll be putting house on the market in a couple of years myself.
my house is within 1 mile of the 3rd best school system on the east coast ( according to teachers ) school goes from k-12. university in same city ( less than 5 miles away from my door ).
one hour from culture ( d.c. ) , beach and mountains.
not a lot of snow ( school's out for 3 inches ) . no severe heat very few hurricanes ( i think 2 small ones in 3 years ) , no earthquakes , tornados only in the country occassionally touch down, AWESOME neighborhood!!
shopping ( great stores ) less that 3 miles away.
3 bed 2 bath home on 3/4 acre for $330,000. can't beat it!

I live about 30 minutes from austin, i'm a country girl so i'm not big on cities, but austin is fun, always something going on. Live music all the time. Traffic is terrible, but overall a good place. It's getting expensive, around 2.70 for a gallon of gas.

I love Texas, lived there for a few years, pretty hot though. Colorado is great in the summer warm but not humid and Texas for the winter. I don't know anywhere that is great all year round, I wish I did cuz I would be there. I have heard that in Vegas, its hot but not humid so its tolerable, and the winters are mild, never been there just heard it from several people.
