My wife and I are splitting up and I am buying the majority of our stuff from her. How do we decide a fair price without having to pay an auctioneer to put a value on it.

Compare retail value and deduct depretiation at 10% per year owned. Then split that amount in half, since you are entitled to half of the conyugal property if it was purchased during the marriage.

If you can afford it, buy something new, Why wanting all of those memories around anyway. Do your self a favor and let her keep most of the stuff, just keep your personal belongings, family heirlooms, personal jewerly and mementos. Who wants to go to all that trouble over a couch?

Good luck to you

If you just have regular STUFF, don't worry about it to much , it's just stuff. If it is something that you are attached to then both figure out a price for it and split the difference.

You need to decide or you call someone in to price everything and split it that way.

Probably fifty fifty of whatever you make or buy. Talk to a lawyer to find out what to do legally!
